We are created to worship God; that is our primary purpose for living. Every product exists for a purpose determined by the manufacturer and not the product. “This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.” Isaiah 43:21
My entire life people have told me I have been a worshiper of God. From a young age until now (which I won't say what that age is LOL). Let's just agree it's been a minute or two! In the years of worshiping God there have been private moments and public moments, times in my room or my office belting worship, from driving in my car and getting the funny looks to being on stage being blessed with the opportunity to lead other women into the presence of God.
In these moments the Holy Spirit has wooed my spirit to connect with Him on a totally different level than ever. Being completely still and becoming a complete sacrifice to God, bringing nothing else more important to God. As Isaiah says, "this is our primary purpose for living!"
In times of sorrow worship Him, in times of joy worship Him. As Rita Springer sings "whatever comes my way poverty, pain or fame, you are all I have and I want to do is worship you." (Created To Worship, Rita Springer)
During a rainstorm my granddaughter told me she was scared of the rain and the thunder. My words to Sugar Tot where "Don't be afraid of the rain because this is God's way of watering the earth that He created in the beginning" (Genesis 1:1). I also told her the thunder was the Angels clapping for joy. She immediately got excited about the rain and said "Thank you God for watering the earth for Mayzie!" (See Mayzie is her cow that needs water in her tank to be able to drink from and the tank gets filled by the rain.) I've heard it said many times while raising my kids thunder was the angels clapping or God stomping His foot to the beat of the music the Angels are singing to.
Sometimes we need to be able to bring peace over fear, joy over sadness! Worship is one of the two most perfect ways to do so next to prayer.
In your times of fear or sadness, pain or sorrow, find peace in your worship to God. Know you were created to worship Him. You don't have to be an amazing singer, remember God created you to be the worshiper you are!
